Mrs. Ligea McCracken Painter, 94, Kailua-Kona died Sept. 28 at a private residence. Born in Afton, Okla., she was a former teacher and an airline stewardess for the former Continental Airlines. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Cousins of the Daughters of Hawaii, life member of the Kona Outdoor Circle and P.E.O. Services will be held at a later date. Survived by sons, Steven (Carla) Painter of Spencer, Iowa, and Douglas (Amelia) Painter of Fostoria, Iowa; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a niece and nephew. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Jeane “Harpo” Kubera, 75, of Keaau died Sept. 6 at home. Born in Chicago, he was a retired truck driver for Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Company. A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at Gilbert Carvalho Park, 860 Waianuenue Ave., Hilo. Casual attire. Survived by sons, Anthony “Harp” (Maria) Kubera and Rick (Paula Modjeska) Kubera of Pahoa; daughter, Debra Agbayani of Keaau; sisters, Rose (Wil) Stafford of Huntley, Ill., and Janice Johnson of Coloma, Mich.; grandsons, Travis Agbayani of Keaau, Clark Kubera and Riker Kubera of Pahoa, Koa Kubera of Hilo, and Kai Kubera of Honolulu; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Timoteo C. Badua, 95, of Orchidland died on Aug. 24 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a vegetable harvester for Koi Tomato Farm and a member of the First Born Temple in Hilo. Friends may call Saturday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hil for a 9-11 a.m. visitation and 11 a.m. funeral service. Casual attire; burial at Alae Cemetery. Survived by sons, Quirino C. Badua of Keaau, Benito C. Badua of Philippines, Pedro C. (Josefa) Badua of Oahu and Marcelino C. (Veronica) Badua of Orchidland; daughters, Mina B. (Tino) Ventura of Kohala, Cecilia B.
